1) I understand that the intention was to make this move require spacing and i don’t have anything against it, but the newly added hitbox just doesn’t make any visual sense.
It’s clear when a move has a sourpost on the hand or a hilt and a sweetspot on the claws or a blade. But in case of Maypul - what is she hitting an opponent here in this situation? Visually, the opponent is getting hit by the root in both cases, but the result is different and it’s confusing.
My suggestion is either:
Do something with the animation (make it look like the vines spread from underneath Maypul or smth like that).
Or revork the move in some way to avoid adding this hitbox at all (make vines appear further from Maypul so there’s a literal blindspot in between, or make them spawn closer to her and grow apart and have an early sour hitbox
2) Utilt sourspot in the middle lacks hit VFX and SFX entirely and the sweetspot is indistinguishable from a normal hit.
3) There’s something wrong with the root animation, why is it wobbly?
